Also, have you ever noticed that the older a mom gets, the earlier they tell other people their child started doing something? Seriously, one of my neighbors in Louisville told me she had her daughter potty-trained at 10 months and her son trained at 13 months (yes, you read that correctly). Another person told me their child was talking in complete sentences at 1 year of age. Now I'm not saying I'm doubting the authenticity of these statements, but... well ok, I guess I am =). Anyways, with my updates, we'll have no tall tales about Brylee when I'm a grandparent... haha. So no, 25 years from now I won't be telling anyone she read "Gone with the Wind" and wrote a 20 page report by a year and a half! =)
Just to forewarn, if you're not a close relative, this blog entry will be a BORING one for you... so you may want to check out now. I know I think Brylee's Faves and current Accomplishments are super exciting, but I realize the average reader may not =).
Brylee's 14 Current Faves:
- Ducky is still number one, closely followed by giraffe and monkey
- Crawling up the stairs and then having me hold her hands to let her "hop" back down the steps (she could go up & down all day long if I would let her)
- Seeing daddy when he gets home from work (It's amazing how much their relationship has grown now that Sam has a more family friendly work schedule -- we LOVE having him at home!)
- Peaches, Strawberries, Cherries, Mandarin Oranges... she eats fruit at every single meal
- Graham Crackers, Mum-mums, and fishie crackers are her favorite non-fruit snack
- Baby swings at the park -- she can pitch a good fit if I take her out of the swing before she's ready
- Racing down the hallway (w/ daddy chasing Brylee and mommy.. the "I'm gonna get you" game) and tackling daddy when he hides under the covers (those are her two fav evening activities)
- She loves the songs on her Baby Can Read video
- Opening cabinets (kitchen & bathroom) and pulling everything out of them (yes, we're a little behind on the baby proofing)
- Standing in front of the dryer and helping me pull out the clean clothes to fold (haha, I call her my little supervisor). And then she likes grabbing the underwear and swimsuit bottoms to wear as necklaces around her neck... what a goofball! =) She gets furious when I take them off of her too!
- Pushing around her stroller or walker
- Trips to the grocery store/Wal-mart, etc... she LOVES waving and smiling at people... my little social butterfly, lol
- Getting into my wallet and pulling out every single gift card, credit card, debit card, etc... (we're going to be in trouble once she actually knows how to use them =) )
- Unrolling the toilet paper
- She now can point to her nose, and sometimes my nose and Sam's nose
- "Arms up" and she'll put her arms up
- Clapping... which is so cute, b/c she knows to clap for herself when she does good
- She stands up and tries to dance on the Dance Dance Revolution mat for the Wii ... wonder who she watches play that game? =)
- Walking (when she feels like it), but as of last Saturday she started consistently taking 3 to 10 steps at a time when she attempts it
- Standing - no problems just standing there, even on hard surfaces =)
- Waves "hi" and "bye" still... but it's so cute b/c she waves backwards (she folds her hand in and out towards herself)
- Clicking her tongue or buzzing her lips.. haha, she likes being copied or copying you when you make those sounds w/ your mouth
- Turning on the tv - seriously this little thing is a pro with the remote
