Aloha Means "Hello" and "Goodbye"

So... a few days ago was exactly SIX MONTHS of me and Sammy living in Louisville! (I'm so good at remembering anniversaries for EVERYTHING aren't I? =) Which by the way, today is our 7 months of marriage! =) ) Anyways, since we didn't have a blogspot six months ago, I thought I would put up a few pics of our last days in Knoxville, our last minute "Aloha Going Away Party" Shirley had for us, and some pics of our first few weeks in "The Ville!" (including Labor Day, a hot air balloon festival, our first Cardinals football game, the KY state fair, etc..).
Thinking back to the move six months ago, Sammy and I had SO UNBELIEVABLY MUCH going on!!! He was working a zillion hours at Y-12 finishing up a big project before the move, we had just gotten married, just gone out of the country on our honeymoon, on our one free weekend before the wedding we went househunting in Louisville, the week of our wedding I was interviewing at an ad agency in downtown Louisville, I was busy at the ad agency in Knoxville finishing up things for clients, we found out two days before the wedding that the house we thought we were moving to here in Louisville, they denied our offer and took the house off the market! In the middle of all of this, I had posted an ad to rent out Sam's house in Knoxville(so Sam's dad showed the house to potential renters while we were on our honeymoon)and I was finishing up dealing with wedding vendors -- Seriously, things were CRAZY! =) And that was before you even add on the added stress of me taking off work at the ad agency in Knoxville (my boss was such a sweetheart though, she couldn't have been more nice about letting me leave for things dealing with the wedding or the move)to drive down to Louisville the week we got back from our honeymoon to quick find us an apartment to live in since the house deal had fallen through! Sammy didn't even see where we were moving to until the day we moved in!
But anyways, with everything we had going on, things worked out. My mom drove four hours to meet me in Louisville, to pick out an apartment so I didn't have to decide by myself, and while a lot of apartment complexes were rented out already by golfers for the Ryder Cup (it took place just up the road from our apartment), we did find one that has worked well for us while we live here! =) And since we're only in Louisville for around 18 months, it's really better the house we were buying fell through, b/c with how the economy is, we could have possibly been stuck with it when we leave! And as far as packing up the Knoxville house... Sam's parents were a blessing! That house would have never been all packed up if they hadn't helped us! =)

The living room of Sam's house in Knoxville. We found some great renters that are such nice people, and all the fish in the aquarium you see on the left, made it to Louisville alive except one!

Lindsey and I at Shirley's "Aloha party"

Sam and Stacy

Jt, Chad, Frog, and the Birthday Boy... Jt is showing off his guns

Me and Shirley, the Squirrel Master himself!

1st weekend in Louisville, Sam liked the menu at the Bluegrass Brewing Company

Louisville Bats Triple A basketball team, Sam's company was having a work party there

Sam was so excited the San Diego Chicken was going to be at the game... but he was right, it was entertaining =)

Sam and I on 4th Street at Howl at the Moon (the dueling piano bar), once again, we tried to take on everyone in getting them to play "Rocky Top"!

4th Street, every weekend this street shuts down and becomes a big block party, it's lined with restaurants, bars, a comedy club, bowling alley, etc...

So our second week here, I babysat Addie (my sister's daughter, they live in Madison, IN which is about an hour away from Louisville) and we played a little dress up...this little bow was so big for her head, but she liked it! =)

So, my sister Steph, her husband Zach, and Addie came to our house before the KY State Fair. Addie wanted to play with Sam's squishy basketball and he whispered to me like she might know what he was saying "No, give her the blue football instead." Lol, yes, he is going to have to learn to share his toys, especially with our little one on the way!

Yes, this really is a chain in Louisville....

KY State Fair!

Jesse James was there, instead of waiting in line for a picture with him, we decided the truck would do.

Six Flags!!! Sam and I at the waterpark, I LOVED the huge tornado slide behind me =)

Labor Day weekend... Sammy cooking some burgers illegally on our balcony =)

Steph and Zach came to visit and go swimming with us

Addie in her new little bathing suit ready for the pool... how cute!

Sam, swimming at our apartment pool, he stole some little kid's watergun! haha

Sammy and I married like 6 3/4 weeks in this photo =)

Giving Addie some kisses byebye

Hot Air Balloon Festival... do you see my hubbie in there??? We have since gotten a better camera so that you can actually see photos at night! =)

These people came all the way from Maryland!

The hurricane hit Louisville, and people were without power for a week!!! Sam and mine came on after 24 hours, but that was only b/c the Ryder Cup took place up the road a few days after the hurricane hit. So our area was one of the first to come back on. But anyways, lots of aisles in the grocery store were empty!

My handsome hubby!

I had to wait in line 1 1/2 for $12 in gas!!!

But the hurricane did bring us the cutest little refugee... I LOVE this picture! =)

Steph and Zack were without power for a week, so they came to stay with us for a few days =)

Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift! Our little girl was with us for this concert, we just didn't know it yet! =)

First Louisville Cardinals football game!

the Stadium

Finally! We found the Wisconsin Cheese stand at a festival in Madison, Indiana! =) These are the best cheesesticks ever, and I hadn't had them since I moved to the south!!!
