Parking @ the Carwash

Ok, so I fully realize that anyone reading this blog may not find this funny... it may be a one of those "you had to be there" moments. But anyways, Sam and I thought it was hilarious last night, so I thought I would share anyways =).
Since we live in an apartment complex in Louisville, we have a garage, but it is PACKED with all our stuff that doesn't fit in our apartment. So we have no room to park our new vehicle in there. Well, this drives Sam nuts, especially since we've had a few hail storms move through Louisville in the last month. Of course we don't want our vehicle getting all dinged up! So Sam comes up with a good idea.
Our apartment complex has a free, do-it-yourself, car wash. It's kind of open on the sides, but has a roof over it. So, a few weeks ago, the weather people are saying we have a hail storm coming and it's getting super dark outside and it's like 8:00 at night. So Sam comes up with this idea... he's like let's go park our vehicle in the carwash, so that it's covered by the roof and we don't get any hail dings on it. So we move the vehicle to the carwash and are really excited about our new place to park.
Well, at like 10:00 that night, the storms are over, so we go back out there to move our vehicle to a normal parking spot. We have a note on our car. Some guy said "Don't park your car in here, your neighbors may want to use the vacuum." Sam's like "I bet whoever that was, was just mad that we thought of this idea first, b/c NOONE is going to sweep their vehicle out and wash it during a thunderstorm." Especially since rain and whatever would still pour in on someone on the sides, the only thing this carwash has is a roof!
Well, the next big thunderstorm comes through a week later, and we go to put our car back in the carwash. So guess what? We got beat to it!!! There is a 4runner SUV in there! So now, Sam thinks this had to be the person that put the note on our car. And obviously, we are now in direct competition with the 4runner for when storms move through our area, as to who can park their car there first =). haha
So, yesterday at about 7:00 the sky is pitch black, and looking up the Louisville weather, it says to expect nickle to quarter size hail during this storm. So Sam and I are once again on our way to try and beat this 4runner to the carwash. It has already started torrentially downpouring and lightning at this point, so I'm already thinking we're too late. Well, as we approach, I'm like yep, there is an SUV in there. Sam's like do you have any paper with you? At the very least, we're going to leave a note like the one he left us (Yah, I know.. everyone involved in this situation is acting really maturely). =) So I'm looking in my purse for a pen and a piece of paper... and we pull up, and it's NOT the 4runner. There REALLY IS a guy, WASHING his SUV in the torrential downpour/tornado type weather. I mean the guy is just getting SOAKED, but he still has the hose going spraying down his car.
Lol, so we had to start laughing, and Sam wanted to drive around the block to take a picture. But it was just pouring so hard, no picture would have turned out! =) Anyways, maybe people really do want to sweep out their cars during a thunderstorm... haha =). Sam, in true competitive spirit, was just happy it wasn't the 4runner =).
